Writing a Birthday Letter to a Friend? So, use this sample birthday letter as a template for your impressive birthday letter to a friend.

Writing a birthday letter is a special way to express your best wishes to the people who mean the most to you. This type of letter should convey your real emotions and appreciation that this person is in your life.

Regardless if it’s a birthday letter to a close family member, cherished friend, or special colleague, your sincere wishes should touch their heart and make them smile.

Tips On How To Write A Birthday Letter

• Congratulate the Recipient of the Letter

Start out your letter by earnestly congratulating the individual who’s celebrating their birthday. Don’t be afraid to add a bit of humor with a fun joke about their age if they’re older.

• Express a Sincere Birthday Wish

Directly convey a heartfelt birthday message that clearly expresses your warmest wishes for your loved one without exaggerating the message in any way.

Mention how much this person means to you and thank them for helping you if applicable. If you share a special memory you can add that to your letter as well for an extra layer of appeal.

• The Tone of the Letter Should Correspond to the Recipient

Depending on who exactly is going to receive your letter will dictate the overall tone. For example, you wouldn’t use the same tone and voice if you’re writing a birthday letter to your sister versus your boss.

Generally, if the person is somewhat older, the tone of the letter should be more formal in nature. Again, it will primarily depend on the type of person to whom you are sending the letter.

Tips on How to Write a Birthday Invitation Party Letter

Here are a few tips to follow if you’re writing an invitation letter to invite a number of guests to a birthday celebration.

• Express Your Enthusiasm

When writing your invitations, clearly show your excitement and enthusiasm about the upcoming party. In other words, don’t use any boring or dull words in your letter.

• Use the Proper Tone

Your birthday invitations should ideally have a somewhat formal tone overall, especially if you’re inviting older members of your family or senior colleagues to the party.

However, if you’re inviting your closest friends and family members, the general tone can be less formal. Be sure to inject your personality into your invitations to keep it light and fun. Remember, this is a party.

July 1, 2019

Dear Sydney,

Happy birthday best friend! I want to wish you very warm congratulations on your special day and offer my best wishes for many, many more great birthdays to come in your future.

I hope this particular birthday is the best one ever for you. Knowing you, you probably have a list of exciting things planned to do this year in order to celebrate it with your wonderful family.

Keep this in mind: while everybody grows old, not everyone grows up! Sounds like me and you, right? Whenever I need to put a quick smile on my face, I just think about all the good times we’ve shared over the years. You look as young and beautiful as the first day I met you. Did you discover the ‘fountain of youth’?

Also, I want to thank you for being there for me this past year when I really needed help. But, that’s what friends are for, and you’re the best. Please know that I will always be there for you too.

Here’s to wishing you a long, healthy, and prosperous life my friend!

Again, happy birthday.

Love,

Signature
Jackie
